Johann Sebastian Bach and Max Reger, two protagonists of "Sparks of Spirit", get together again in this short encore: Reger, who revered Bach's compositions like no others, transcribed the four Orchestral Suites for piano four hands, including the well-known Air from the third Suite in D major, BWV 1068. This piece was recorded on February 8, 2023 in the Sendesaal Bremen. Link to the video:

With substantial works of the piano duo literature, Vincent and Sophie Neeb illuminate the phenomenon of a spiritual new beginning in their programme "Sparks of Spirit". Characterized by great confidence and optimism, the radically different and dazzling, multi-faceted sound worlds of Schubert, Bach, Reger, and Rachmaninoff are united by their boundless imagination and rousing energy.
A little music clip originated from the recording session of the album "déjà-rêvé": Johannes X. Schachtner's "SuperInvention" for two pianos and percussion, written specially for the Neeb piano duo, Christian Benning and Patrick Stapleton. In this short and vibrant piece, all 15 two-part inventions of J. S. Bach are quoted, beside many other well-known pieces across the whole classical repertoire. Link to the video:
Vincent and Sophie speak about their recently published debut CD on the programme "Talente und Karrieren".
déjà-rêvé – dialogues across time

With Bernd Alois Zimmermann's Monologues, the piano duo consisting of Vincent and Sophie Neeb features a rarely-played masterwork as the centerpiece of their debut album. They are "dialogues across time between dreamers, lovers, those who suffer, and those who pray," as the composer describes his work, which was premiered in 1965 and, with its ingenious collages, offers a foray through music history.
Taking inspiration from this, the programme is rounded out by a contrasting selection of pieces quoted in Zimmermann's work: via this inner connection, compositions by Bach and Debussy, creatively arranged for two pianos and percussion by Johannes X. Schachtner, and a Mozart arrangement by the Neeb Piano Duo enter into a unique dialogue.
Together with percussionists Christian Benning and Patrick Stapleton, the Neeb Piano Duo explore surreal dream worlds that are at once playfully light and enigmatically profound.
A bright lookout: The new website goes online, and the album "déjà-rêvé - dialogues across time" is going to be released on January 5th!
